Wilberfoss Diamond Jubilee Picnic

We have registered the lighting of the Wilberfoss Beacon on the official Queen's Diamond Jubilee Beacon site so come and join our celebration on the 4th June.  Starting at 4.00 pm on the Sports Field we’ve organised for a Face Painter and Ice Cream van to be present and would like to see as many of you as possible laden with picnics, BBQs, gazebos, etc so that as a village we can celebrate together.  There’s plenty of space for people to bring entertainment in the form of Frisbees, badminton sets, sponge ball tennis, etc and just relax and enjoy yourselves.  The Jubilee Beacon is being built for us and will remain a lasting feature in the village long after the Jubilee celebration.  The Beacon will be lit at 10.15 pm.  We are offering an “open mic” to local bands that can use it as an opportunity to get some “air time”.  Any questions or queries about the day should be directed to the Clerk, Sarah Wills on 01759 380123 or at sarah-wills@supanet.com

There’ll be an opportunity to get involved in The Wilberfoss Jubilee Project 2012which, with everyone’s help, hopes to create a detailed and imaginative record of Wilberfoss and its residents during the year 2012 – a record which speaks to future generations about our village and the people who live in it during this historic yearMore details here.

Local Development Framework - Fact checking exercise

The latest round of the LDF (ERYC consultation on Planning Issues for the next 15 years) was discussed at the PC meeting held on Thu 15 Mar 12.

The current consultation is between ERYC and the Parish Council to check basic facts about the potential sites in Wilberfoss Parish.  A response to this fact  checking exercise is being prepared and will be published on this web site once finalised. The important part of the process comes next, when we understand that ERYC will be consulting about the actual proposed areas to be included or excluded from the LDF. This will happen in Summer 2012 (dates TBC) and we will be looking to organise a Parish Meeting to discuss this matter fully and to let residents have their say.

Our responses as a Parish Council and other useful information can be found here.

Noticed a funny smell?

You may have recently noticed that there have been odours of tar/asphalt in the air lately. It is believed these may emanate from a mobile plant at the ARUK site over the A1079.  We have been in touch with ERYC and they advise using the attached sheet to records incidents of the smell.  Sheets can then be sent to Rowan.Devlin@eastriding.gov.uk who will investigate.
